Do You Believe In Magic?

I did not believe this until I saw this with my own eyes. I got a morph mug for my husband last Christmas and was pleasantly surprised with the results. This mug, I call it the “Magic Mug”, is solid black at the first catch of your eye, but pour some warm liquid into it and your favorite photo magically fades in! When I first saw it, I did not believe it, but took a leap of faith and tried it.

Thinking about it further made me think I had made a big mistake. Now I had to find and fix that perfect photo. Finding it was easy, (despite the hundreds of unused photos to choose from) the one of my son holding my husband’s hand while walking on the beach was a clear winner. Now for the hard part, cropping, and resizing, and making it perfect. However, it turned out that I would not have to go through that hassle. All I had to do was send my favorite picture, and they were going to do the technical stuff for me! “Could this be any easier?” I thought.

I still did not know if it was real. I ran into the kitchen and poured some of my afternoon tea into my new mug. I watched and waited anxiously. There it was! The whole memory of that day at the beach rushed through me and made me smile. I was overwhelmed with joy, it had worked, I had finally found an amazing way to use some of those hundreds of photos on my hard drive! I thought it would make a great Christmas gift for my husband. I wrapped it up, and under the tree it went.

On Christmas morning, the “Magic Mug” made its debut. My son, Jason and me stood at the doorway snickering as my husband poured his morning coffee. He took a sip and almost dropped the mug. He got down on his knees and eyed the cup on the edge of the table while my son broke into laughter. Then he realized what it was and smiled. I could see the joy of the beach rushing into his eyes once again. Hugs were exchanged while he teased Jason about being daddy’s little boy. I can honestly say I could not have been happier or more pleased with my gift decision for this Christmas Day.

This mug has been so much fun. At a recent party I had I put the mug in the microwave and left the room. I returned to see several friends gathered around the microwave trying to figure out what was up with the “Magic Mug”.

Jason likes to put on magic shows for his friends with this mug. The shock and amazement I see on their little faces is enough to keep you smiling for hours.
